Prenatal chiropractic · Webster Technique
Care through pregnancy, from someone who does this often.
Hip, pelvic, and low back pain are the reasons most of my pregnant patients book the first appointment.
Through the weeks
What changes, and roughly when.
The center of gravity starts to move
Most common reasons to book
General patterns, not a prediction for any one pregnancy. The curve deepens because the center of gravity moves forward.
What to expect
What care actually looks like.
- 01
The first appointment
I ask how far along you are, what your OB or midwife has said, and where the pain shows up during the day. Then an exam with pregnancy-appropriate positioning. Nothing happens that I have not explained first.
- 02
The adjustment itself
Gentle, on a table that adjusts for a growing bump, with side-lying positions as you progress. Most patients describe it as much lighter than they expected.
- 03
Between visits
Two or three specific things for sleeping, sitting, and getting out of bed. These matter more than the visits do.
- 04
How often
Usually every week or two through the stretch where it is bothering you, easing off once it holds. Not a standing appointment for forty weeks.
The technique
What the Webster Technique is.
A chiropractic analysis and adjustment of the pelvis and the soft tissue around it, developed specifically for pregnancy. Gentle, and not a manipulation of the baby.
I have used it throughout my career, and I work alongside your OB or midwife rather than around them.
